About the Program
Starting the school year with the right supplies shouldn't be a barrier to education. Our Back to School Program ensures that students from families facing financial challenges have the tools they need to succeed academically.
Each student receives a brand new backpack filled with grade-appropriate school supplies. We work closely with local schools and community partners to identify students in need and ensure they're equipped for academic success.
The program runs annually in late July and August, preparing students for the upcoming school year. We serve students in Monroe County and the surrounding Poconos region from Pre-K through 12th grade.
Typical Supply List by Grade Level
Pre-K & Kindergarten
Crayons, markers, safety scissors, glue sticks, folders, tissues, and hand sanitizer
Elementary (Grades 1-5)
Pencils, erasers, crayons, colored pencils, notebooks, folders, glue, scissors, rulers, and pencil boxes
Middle School (Grades 6-8)
Pens, pencils, notebooks, binders, dividers, highlighters, rulers, calculators, and USB drives
High School (Grades 9-12)
Pens, pencils, notebooks, binders, scientific calculators, USB drives, highlighters, and index cards
How to Apply
Application Period
Applications are typically accepted from late June through early August for the upcoming school year. Check back in summer for the next application period.
Eligibility:
- Students in Pre-K through 12th grade
- Families residing in Monroe County and the Poconos area
- Families experiencing financial hardship
- Foster families and kinship caregivers
